DPC Foil

DPC Foil

DPC foil, or Damp Proof Course, is an essential water-repellent foil that is widely used in the construction sector. It plays a crucial role in preventing problems caused by rising or penetrating damp in wall constructions. This film is usually made of black LDPE (Low Density Polyethylene) and is characterized by a waffle structure, which not only ensures excellent adhesion on mortar, but also maintains a certain distance to the surface. This can help reduce cold and condensation.

Features of DPC Foil:

  • Excellent Adhesion: The waffle structure ensures superior adhesion with masonry mortar.
  • Strong and Watertight: Provides exceptional strength and watertightness, even during the open construction phase.
  • Easy Assembly: Cut straight for quick and easy installation. In addition, to prevent telescoping.
  • Environmentally friendly: Can be made from recycled material and is highly recyclable. No harmful substances are released during either production or combustion.
  • Durable: High resistance to acids, bases, alkalis and salts; temperature independent and has a lifelong lifespan.
  • Safe: Non-toxic and rot-free.
  • Waterproof: Class W1 waterproofing.
  • UV Sensitivity: Not UV resistant; alternatives can be considered for UV-sensitive applications.
  • Attachment: glued or mechanically attached, e.g. staples (note water permeability with mechanical attachment)

Applications of DPC Foil:

  • Interior and Exterior Walls: Suitable for all types of walls, including foundation and cavity walls.
  • Foundation: Prevents rising damp from the ground in the walls.
  • Red ridges: Provides a watertight seal at the ridge of the roof.
  • Frame connections: Prevents moisture from penetrating through window frames.
  • Lintels: Guarantees watertightness above doors and windows.
  • Industrial Inner Cavity: Prevents moisture problems in industrial buildings.
  • Under Metal Roof Tile Systems: Provides extra protection and insulation.
  • Prefab Roof Elements: Ideal for roofs with a gentle slope.
  • Constructions with Extra Stability: Provides security in building structures where this is required.
  • Basements: Suitable for use in cellars.
  • Universal Applicability: Can be used in both new construction and renovation.
